In the upcoming premiere of "Sleepy Hollow" Season 3, Abbie's (Nicole Beharie) past will catch up with her as she learns that her new boss is her ex-lover.
According to Christian Today, Abbie's new boss will be played by Lance Gross. Gross will play Daniel Reynolds, who is Abbie's former competiton back in Quantico as they were pitted against each other. They went in a romantic relationship before they parted ways to pursue different careers four years ago.
It was reported that Reynolds becomes an FBI agent while Abbie returns to her home to work under the Sheriff. In Season 3, Reynolds takes over as the town's chief of police and it was reported that he might hinder Abbie's relationship with Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison).
Show producer Alex Kurtzman revealed in an interview that the show will still focus on the relationship between Abbie and Ichabod, and he said that viewers will further understand the dynamic of their relationship in Season 3. According to Christian Post, showrunner Clifton Campbell confirmed this and explained that Season 3 will also focus on not just Ichabod and Abbie but also Jenny.
Kurtzman also revealed that they added a mysterious enemy to fill the gap of the Headless as it was earlier reported that the character won't be appearing in the upcoming season. He said that the new villain will bring a lot of trouble in the town and it is someone viewers have never seen before.
"Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 will also be adding new cast members as Shannyn Sossamon and Nikki Reed were earlier confirmed to be appearing in the new season. Fox also revealed that it is planning a Halloween special which will air on October 29. According to the report, the special will be a crossover between "Sleepy Hollow" and "Bones."
"Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 will premiere on Fox on October 1.
