Fox's hit comedy series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will be airing Season 3 this month and fans should expect a lot of big changes in the upcoming season. Season 2 ended with Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) finally sharing an intimate moment and with the news that Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) and Gina (Chelsea Peretti) will be leaving the precinct.
With that, fans speculated that Andre Braugher will be leaving the show after it was confirmed that Bill Hader will be replacing Holt as captain. However, in an earlier interview, co-creator Dan Goor said that Braugher and Peretti won't be leaving the show. He emphasized that the characters are one of the best and most important parts of the story, which is why they don't have any plans of him removing from the show.
Reports reveal that Holt and Gina's new life in the Public Relations Office will be explored in Season 3. International Business Times also reported that it won't be long until the two are back in the 99th precinct.
Meanwhile, it seems like Joe Lo Truglio's character will have a new love interest in the upcoming season. Truglio, who plays Detective Boyle, is said to be charmed by a new character in Season 3. According to Entertainment Weekly, "24" alum Mary Lynn Rajskub will be joining the cast as Genevieve who is a successful gallery owner, and Boyle believes that she could be his soulmate.
Mike Schur directed the first episode of the upcoming season and he revealed in an interview with Deadline that the first episode will be focused on Jake and Amy and their promising relationship. He added that their goal for the premiere is to not leave anything hanging, so all questions should be answered by the premiere episode.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 3 episode 1 will air on Fox on September 27.
