Green Day's Bllie Armstrong Lists Newport Beach Home for $1.89 Million

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong is selling his Newport Beach home for $1.895 million.

Armstrong, who is in rehab for drug abuse, and his wife Adrienne, purchased the two-story estate in 2006 for $1.699 million.

The property is spread across 2,485 square feet and is located in Newport's Peninsula Point neighborhood. It has three bedrooms, four bathrooms,924 square feet of living space, private backyard patio and outdoor shower, vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and gourmet kitchen, reported the Zillow Blog.

After the purchase, Armstrong and Adrienne renovated the house and fitted it with modern amenities. However, they have retained the basic architectural style, which is a New Port Beach Cottage.

Describing the house, Zillow said that it is a "more bright and cozy family hideaway than punk-rocker party house." The house is listed with HOM Sotheby's International Realty. A monthly payment on Armstrong's home would be $6,573, assuming a 20 percent down payment on a 30-year mortgage, according to the Zillow Mortgage Calculator.

It's been a rough phase for Armstrong. Though Armstrong owns a permanent residence in the Bay Area, he might relocate after his release from the rehab, reported Celebdigs. The website added that the family is scouting for a residence someplace up North.

Commenting on Armstrong checking himself into rehab, Green Day bassist Mike Dirtnt told The Hollywood Reporter, "Obviously, the timing for this isn't ideal, but Bille Joe's well-being is our main concern. We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can't wait to see you all again soon."

Armstrong and wife Adrienne met in 1990 and have two sons, 17-year-old Joseph and 14-year-old Jakob. The couple co-owns Adeline Records, Adeline Street and Atomic Garden Oakland- punk inspired clothing collection.
