‘Resident Evil’ Origins Collection 2015: Capcom’s New Disc Bundle Coming to PS4 & Xbox One, Includes HD Remasters Of ‘Resident Evil’ and ‘Resident Evil 0’

Game developer Capcom has announced a disc bundle of the "Resident Evil" Origins Collection. The disc bundle contains two remastered classic games: "Resident Evil 0" and "Resident Evil."

The game's collection is expected to arrive on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 in January 2016. It was said that Capcom's disc collection bundle costs $20 and is scheduled to be shipped across North America. The disc bundle is expected to go on sale from January 22 in Europe, a report from Gamespot said Tuesday.

"The Resident Evil HD remake is based on the 2002 GameCube version of the game, and first came out on current and last-gen consoles in January 2015. The Resident Evil 0 HD remake is based on the 2002 original, and includes optional camera-relative controls, a choice between the new 16:9 widescreen ratio or the old school 4:3 one, and significantly enhanced graphics and audio," Eurogamer said, describing the games.

Technews Today reports that players who have a "Resident Evil HD" will be able to obtain "Resident Evil 0," which is slated to be released in early 2016. In "Resident Evil 0," players will be introduced to an all-new Wesker Mode as they will "experience the events leading up to the iconic mansion outbreak playing as alternative character Albert Wesker, alongside S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers. Users facing zombies should be able to switch between the characters, both of whom will feature in new outfits that have been tailored especially for the Wesker Mode."

The report adds that Capcom's disc bundle collection will be sold in the United States and Canada for $39.99. Players will also be able to download a digital copy of the game for only $19.99 on various gaming consoles when the former launches in early January next year.

A review by Gamespot's Kevin VanOrd describes the game as generally positive, saying, "There's a beautiful simplicity to Resident Evil HD that serves as a reminder that the best mysteries don't need convoluted stories to be enthralling."
