Daniel Craig fans who loved seeing the star as James Bond would be sad with the latest news. The actor has revealed that "Spectre" may be the last time that he will portray the 007 agent.
Craig made the revelation during an interview with Alex Bilmes at Esquire magazine, where he talked about his latest 007 film project. The 47 year old actor has already completed four James Bond movies namely "Casino Royale," "Quantum of Solace," "Skyfall" and now "Spectre." Craig was reportedly considered "too young" and "too blond" for the role of James Bond when the casting news first came out ten years back. He is the sixth actor to have portrayed the suave secret agent, after notable stars such as Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.
After several Bond movie hits, the actor told Esquire that he is not sure if he will reprise the role after his fourth James Bond movie. Craig said, "I don't know. I really don't know. Honestly. I'm not trying to be coy. At the moment I can't even conceive it."
When asked if he would be interested to do another Bond movie, the actor responded, "At this moment, no. I have a life and I've got to get on with it a bit. But we'll see."
The news may be devastating especially for the actor's fans who are looking forward to seeing him on the big screen as 007. According to Forbes, Craig's current non-interest could probably be due to the star's exhaustion from filming the last Bond movie which wrapped up in May. However, the publication has speculated that if "Spectre" does well "not just financially but critically," Eon Productions and Craig may consider doing another James Bond movie partnership with each other.
It is still unsure whether Craig will finally retire his James Bond suit. Only time will tell if the actor will play his 007 character once again.
"Spectre" is expected to hit movie theaters on November 6, 2015.
