Check Out Tuesday's US Open Results And Predictions, Williams And Djokovic Still #1

The US Open's results for today did not disappoint fans of the world's best tennis players, especially those rooting for Serena Williams and Novac Djokovic.

In a bleacherreport.com article, earlier wins were already reported such as that of Williams and Djokovic, who just as easily beat their opponents. Williams faced Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia on Monday night and came out on top, besting the 25-year old challenger during the first set for just 30 minutes of play. The score was 6-0, 2-0, in favor of Williams. The latter was forced to recuperate over a left ankle injury and thus was unable to continue for the second set.

According to the same article, Novac Djokovic also displayed his playing prowess over his opponent, Joao Souza of Brazil. He won against Souza via 6-1, 6-1, 6-1. Djokovic also reportedly won 92% of all his successful serves during the match.

A recent report on bbc.co.uk gives insiders a fresh look on the wins and further highlights of the tournament. Rafael Nadal is already through to round 2, same with tennis great Serena Williams. Nadal won his match to Borna Coric during the first round with 6-3, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

Heather Watson from Britain however lost to American player Lauren Davis, and has stated that she may have been overthinking the said match. Watson also reportedly has lost during the 1st round in the US Open, specifically 5 years straight.

Still in the same article, French player Benoit Paire won against last year's runner-up, Kei Nishikori of Japan. Nishikori felt some disappointment with the outcome, and was quoted as saying, "It's always very sad to lose in the first round, but I think he (Benoit) was playing good tennis so I don't think I played bad."

In another bbc.co.uk article, Andy Murray of Britain emerged as the winner against Australian Nick Kyrgios in the first round, with 7-5 6-3 4-6 6-1. Read more on this recent development here.
