Hurricane Sandy reportedly displaced the fashion designer and retail czar- Calvin Klein from his penthouse in Perry Street, New York a couple of days ago.
Klein has now shifted over to 40 Bond Street, where he lives in a swanky condo, paying a monthly rent of $25,000. The residence comprises of 2 bedrooms and bathrooms with a great view of the city, reported the Huffington Post.
The house sports 11-foot ceilings and is spread across 2,000 square feet. The place also boasts of a huge living room with an authentic wood burning fireplace, reported the New York Post.
The building was designed by Pritzker winning architects, Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. Klein is expected to stay at the condo for around six months, until his previous residence is fixed up.
"All the mechanics for the buildings are underground and flooded" a source told Mail Online "While his apartment was not damaged, the building is not habitable. Calvin was told they will be displaced for six months."
Klein brought the penthouse for $20 million and was forced to put up somewhere else after Sandy hit in October, reported Mail Online.
Perry Street has been a sparkling celeb hub since Sandy. Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman, Martha Stewart and Vincent Gallo are some of the stars who call the Perry Towers building their home, reported Mail Online.
Latin crooner, Ricky Martin is also said to own an apartment in the building.
