Top five Celebrity Home Sales of 2012

People of Tinsel town are not only glamorous and popular but also have a knack for luxury living and business. The year of "canceled doomsday" saw a lot of huge property dealings among the celebrities.

Zillow brings forth a list of the top and most expensive celebrity home sales in 2012:

1. Ellen DeGeneres' Beverly Hills property: The most expensive and probably one of the largest real estate sales in a while was the Beverly Hills property that belonged to Ellen DeGeneres. The property was bought by TV host, radio personality and producer, Ryan Seacrest for a whopping $49 million!

2. Adrianne Maloof's Beverly Glen residence: The Maloof Company pioneer, Adrianne Maloof sold her Beverly Glen home for $19.5 million in October earlier this year. The residence was the quickest sold property as houses that are listed for more that $10 million take more time to sell. However, Maloof's abode was sold in a month since it was offered up in the market.

3. Michael Jackson's Rented property: The final house of Michael Jackson, the legendary Pop King, was sold for $18.1 million. The house did not belong to Jackson but he had rented it before his demise, as he primed for his world tour. The home was originally priced at $23.9 million and was sold in early November.

4. Nicole Kidman's Home: One of the most beautiful and elegant homes, Nicole Kidman's condo, which looked over the Hudson River, was sold for $16 million. The actress bought the home after her alleged divorce from M.I actor Tom Cruise in 2001. She had first offered her home for rent and finally sold it in August.

5. Derek Jeter's Penthous: New York Yankees shortstop, Derek Jeter sold his Trump World Towers penthouse for $15.5 million that was first listed for $20 million in 2010. Jeter had bought the house from Donald Trump for $12.72 million in 2001. The penthouse was sold in October 2012.

The celebrities have bought and sold in style this year, giving the real estate business a shine like their own!
