Less than a month after his controversial break up with his long-time partner Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog gave love another chance. Everybody's favorite frog made the headlines as his new love interest is revealed.
As per People, Kermit's new girlfriend is in fact, "thinner" than is ex. The duo met when Denise [his new girlfriend] would take time to stop by the set of "Up Late [Miss Piggy's late night talk show]."
Screen Rant then reported that Denise is ABC's head of marketing. News then broke out that the two are getting serious as Kermit calls her "Girlfriend." The duo's relationship might cause an awkward working environment as the newly divorced couple would still be working together most of the time.
Kermit then released a statement on Twitter in regards to his new relationship:
Sheesh. I can't believe I already have to do this again... Here is the official statement on my relationship status:
While I prefer to keep my personal life private, This is Hollywood, so who am I kidding? It is true that I am dating again. However, at this time no one woman-ig or otherwise-is my official "new girlfriend". We are simply close friends.
The Hollywood Reporter then released a report regarding the Kermit-Miss Piggy break up. After finalizing the plan to break the couple up, the team need to find a back story between the break-up.
Bill Prady the executive producer then stated:
"We started talking about it and I said Piggy probably wanted to be 'Brangelina' and wanted to be a public couple - and Kermit is a quiet fella from Mississippi who probably likes a night at home," he said. "I thought about other couples I know where one or both people in the couple are famous and the challenges they face and the difficulty they have of having a public persona of going out in the world and being recognized and how that affects your relationship. I said, 'Boy, I think it's entirely possible that they broke up and that they both had a good reason.' "
