Finally, some of Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's wedding photos are already out. This is good news for their fans who are anticipating their never-before-seen images taken from their top secret nuptials held in April. Brides magazine will feature the photos from the couple's special day in its October/November 2015 issue.
The "Twilight" actress, 27, and "The Vampire Diaries" actor, 36, shared the intimate celebration with their closest friends and family, who were reportedly caught by surprise. They invited their guests by telling them they're attending a housewarming party. Upon guests' arrival, they were taken to the secret venue Topanga, Canyon where the sweet pair exchanged their vows.
"We really wanted our wedding to be small, intimate, and about the two of us. We didn't want our loved ones to show up with any expectations or squeezed into formal attire," Reed told Brides magazine.
Ian and Nikki hired wedding planner Andrea Freeman to manage all the preparations. Freeman came up with a music festival (Coachella-inspired) theme combined with a soulful vibe look, for the ceremony, according to UsWeekly. The bride wore a lacy Claire Pettibone gown accented with boho-chic bouquet of roses, peonies, wildflowers and lush greener.
The couple chose a Vanilla Bake Shop red velvet vanilla wedding cake combined with their Cajun food and tacos. Ian and Nikki served their guests with their signature cocktail drinks, her St. Germain, pear vodka and citrus bitters, and his crafted spicy hibiscus margarita. She dished that they really wanted a Louisiana backyard-barbecue feel, with food stations and a dance floor, according to International Business Times.
"It really was all about the food, the dancing, and the love," Reed, 27, said.
Among their visitors are Somerhalder's "Vampire Diaries" co-stars Kat Graham, Phoebe Tonkin, Matthew Davis, and Paul Wesley. After their nuptials, the newlyweds proceeded to Brazil, Costa Rica and Mexico for their honeymoon. According to Ian, his newlywed life is "amazing" and it's the best time he's ever had.
