Deval Patrick's Home Listed for Sale

Governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, has listed his Milton home for sale.

The home was purchased by Patrick and wife, Diane, for $560,000 in 1989. It was first put up for sale in 2010 with an asking price of $1.7 million. Failing to sell then, the house has now been listed again with a lesser asking price of $1.5 million, reports Realtor.com

"There's no question that the governor's house was overpriced originally," John Maxfield, an agent of Prudential unlimited told BBJRE Daily. "Otherwise it would have sold. Any property, properly priced will sell."

The residence is sprawled across 6,880 square feet at 75 Hinckley Road, Milton, Massachusetts. The house consists of six bedrooms, nine fireplaces and a staff accommodation unit that has three rooms. The place also has a modern kitchen and a sophisticated dining room, reports Zillow.

The house has a far-reaching front staircase, a fountain, playrooms and porches - all with a complete brick exterior. A fountain also adorns the place to add to its beauty, reports BBJRE Daily.

Patrick also owns an estate in the Berkshires. Massachusetts does not have a governor mansion and the Milton Home was Patrick's residence there. Patrick will not be standing for re-election in 2014, reported Realtor.com.

Patrick is now busy restructuring the State Cabinet. He is looking for a temporary replacement for Senator John Kerry, who is expected to be appointed secretary of state, replacing Hillary Clinton in President Obama's Cabinet. The replacement is supposed to serve until the state holds a special election to fill the seat, reports Zillow.
