Frank Capra Home Up For Sale

"It's a Wonderful Life" director, Frank Capra's former house has reportedly been listed for sale at $1.57 million.

The residence is located in La Quinta in the Coachella Valley, which is about two hours from Los Angeles. The house boasts of floor to ceiling glass windows with four bedrooms and five bathrooms. It spreads across 4,221 square feet, reported Yahoo Homes.

The house has a nicely landscaped backyard, pool and spa with a living room that has a 14-foot beamed ceiling and a floor to ceiling fireplace as well. The pool and the patio overlook the golf course of La Quinta country club. The bedrooms also sport a scenic view of the Santa Rosa Mountains visible at a distance, reported MSN Real estate.

Though the house was built in a mid-century style, it's been remodeled and constant renovations mark the current look of the house, reported MSN Real estate.

The House was built in 1960 by architect A. Quincy Jones, who has many important works of construction in his famed portfolio. Jones designed the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California. He was the dean of architecture at the university.

Capra owned the house from 1967 until his death in 1991. The house was last sold in 2004 for $900,000 and again offered up for sale in May 2011 with an asking price of $1.6 million. Since then, the property has been on and off the market, reported MSN Real estate.

As per the prevailing mortgage rates, a monthly installment of $5,482 can be paid with a 20 percent down payment on a 30- year fixed mortgage for the house, reported Zillow.
