When you hear the word Polaroid, you don't immediately associate it with any consumer electronics that they market nowadays. For the brand once uttered would immediately resonate the ever popular Polaroid instant film and cameras. Before the dawn of digital cameras and its wide array of platform, Polaroid once ruled the photo imaging industry. If you are one of those many photography enthusiasts who still wish the comeback of instant photo printing, then this might be your lucky year. Polaroid just announced this month their new product, the Polaroid Snap.
Polaroid just announced yesterday the new 10 megapixel Polaroid Snap (click for image) instant digital camera which is a blend of both Polaroid instant photography trademark and the sleek modern design of most cameras. The Polaroid Snap which was unveiled in Berlin should not be liken to its predecessors. Its new design comes with a mechanism that would distinguish itself from its contemporary cameras.
The exciting camera feature boasts of its slim design compared to its telephone size ancestors. And the trademark instant printing now uses a ZINK technology which implies a zero ink printing technology. Instead of using the traditional ink, the camera utilizes special printing paper that already contains cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals under a polymer coating. It is now through the mini printers inside the camera that ZINK is being activated without any external assistance. The process would then produce a 2 inches by 3 inches size photo in an instant. The wallet size photo immediately captures the event and turns it into a printed memorabilia with just one click of the button.
The good thing about this new Polaroid Snap camera is that it comes with a memory card; thus allowing you to save the picture for resizing options. The new gadget also comes with a selfie timer which is really trendy nowadays and photo booth mode, which takes six photos in 10 seconds.
If you are the type of guy who likes instant coffee and instant noodles, perhaps you would also like to try the new instant printing that Polaroid offers. It comes in four colors, black, white, red and blue - for only $99.
