Cassandra Peterson, the famous hostess who plays "Elvira, Mistress of the Dark" has bought a cozy house in Los Angeles for around $925,000. The house is cozy, light and airy, which is in stark contrast to her television personality.

The Los Angeles property is spread across a 1605 square feet area. It had a complete renovation in 2009. The home consists of 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms sporting a light and airy atmosphere, reported Trulia.

The house also has an extra 400 square feet bonus area along with a bathroom with a nicely landscaped private garden. The home is beautifully landscaped and an intelligently built space, reported Trulia.

The home also boasts of a nice brick patio with a barbecue and can be used as a guest entertaining area. The barbecue place opens up to a sitting area that is accentuated with a beautiful fountain, reported Trulia.

Peterson shot to fame as TV host of her weekly jig, Movie Macabre. Elvira's character is dark and gothic with a valley-girl accent and she reviews low grade horror movies with a touch or sarcasm and satire. Her show did well on television, Elvira's character gained more popularity and her first home video came out in 1985. The character's charm spread across the gaming sector and also the comic books genre.

In early 1990, Peterson started her series of Elvira calendars that were a huge success as well.

Formerly, Peterson lived in her Valley Oak Drive home that she sold to Giovanni Ribisi earlier this year.
