One Direction's Harry Styles Gets Hit With Soda Can on Stage, Act Angers Fans

One Direction band member Harry Styles had a minor stage accident while performing in Philadelphia Tuesday night. The singer was hit on the face by a soda can that a fan threw on stage.

Styles was in the middle of a stage performance when a fan threw a Red Bull can on the stage and it hit him on the face, reports U.K.'s Now Magazine. Fans who captured the moment even shared a video of the accident on Twitter. The clip showed the One Direction band member on the stage when the can flew towards him. Styles was taken aback for a moment, then he continued walking with his head slightly bowed and his hand clutched over his face. The action reportedly was a good indication on how much it must have hurt, stated the news site.

The Now Magazine report also mentioned how One Direction fans to Twitter to show their concern for the singer. One Twitter user wrote, "@Harry_Styles are you okay baby I'm so ashamed someone hit you so bad." Even Styles' mother took to social media to vent her frustration over the incident. The singer's mother wrote that it was "so dangerous" and urged fans "to think" before doing something. Styles mother also stated, "No harm done ... This time... Unless you're on a sports field is it acceptable to throw things at people?! I think not."

Meanwhile, the perpetrator reportedly owned up to throwing the can on Twitter. According to Australia's News.com, the fan, called Hanna, admitted to the act on the social media site after Styles' mother retweeted a video which showed the fan laughing at the incident. Hanna already posted a Twitter apology wherein she also explained that she "never meant to hurt him" and how she "love[s] Harry with all my heart." The fan mentioned the she laughed because she was "shocked" and "didn't know what to do." She added that she "feel[s] so bad" after the incident and apologized to "Harry and his family for doing such a ridiculous and stupid thing."

Hanna also tweeted, "I didn't mean to hurt him I just wanted to be noticed."

The news.com report also took notice of the One Direction singer's mother's response to Hanna's apology. Styles' mother even asked other One Direction fans to stop bullying Hanna. She wrote, "OK peeps!! Please do not turn to bullying @HannaCooke17... that serves no purpose. Please just learn from the incident & be kind."

The musician has yet to comment on the incident.
