Hulu Offers Commercial-Free Streaming Option at $11.99 per Month

According to vox.com, Hulu has announce an exciting new plan that will let you enjoy watching your shows "commercial-free". Right on Hulu.com Home page, there is a slide that says, "Introducing! The No Commercials Plan." Of course, it is followed by a little information of the pricing and it says, "the "No Commercial" plan costs $11.99 a while the Hulu's "Limited Commercial" plan is $7.99 a month and of course it offer a free trial at the bottom. Furthermore, the website says that Hulu Plus is already discontinued. Hulu is known to stream shows like Seinfeld, the Family Guy and South Park among others. This is good news to binge-watching enthusiasts.

With the new commercial-free plan, Hulu has gone a step closer to being the competitor it want to be to Netflix, which offers a similar plan at a lower rate, $8.99 per month. According to Vox, Hulu is positive that people will be willing to pay the extra bucks to catch up with upcoming fall television season, without the commercials.

The Wall Street Journal quoted what Mike Hopkins, chief executive of Hulu said: ""There's a whole set of customers that we saw in the research and in the metrics that aren't interested if we have advertising. It's definitely something we're doing to be more competitive in the marketplace, and the only way to do that is to make your product better.

On the other hand, this commercial-free plan has some limitations according to Vox. While shows like Seinfeld are sure to be commercial free under the new plan. According to The Wall Street Journal, it was reported that Hulu was not able to obtain the commercial-free rights for seven of its shows, namely: Grey's Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Scandal, Grimm, New Girl, and How to Get Away With Murder.
