'Supergirl' Pilot TV Series: '24' Actor Glenn Morshower to Play Lois Lane's Dad

The new CBS series "Supergirl" is premiering very soon, and the cast just keeps better and better!

IGN reports that "24" alum Glenn Morshower is joining the powerhouse cast as Lois Lane's father, General Sam Lane. The same report also says that his character will bring trouble for Supergirl as he enlists her in "a dangerous government initiative." He's also reportedly very protective as a father, but it is not yet sure if he'll be more of a villain or a friend in "Supergirl." General Sam Lane will also be associated with the Red Tornado, played by Iddo Goldberg of "Salem" fame.

Morshower has appeared in the "Transformers" franchise and Marvel productions like "X-Men: First Class"and "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Channing Tatum's wife, will also be joining the show as Lois Lane's sister Lucy. Daily Mail describes Lucy "as brash and funny and just as successful as her older sister who, of course, is a reporter with the Daily Planet and the main squeeze of Clarke Kent aka Superman."

The pilot episode of "Supergirl" was leaked six months early, and it was warmly received. Screenrant made a review and they appreciated how the show was able to give a genuine glimpse of Kara's personality other than being a superheroine. They also say that the writers of the show made the lead very relatable and likeable.

Melissa Benoist plays Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl in the series. Calista Flockheart, Dean Cain (who once played Superman), and Laura Benanti will be joining her on the show.

CBS has already ordered a full-season of the series, and "Supergirl" premieres October 26.
