Looks like Ed Sheeran and Nicole Scherzinger never really were a thing, especially now that the "Thinking Out Loud" singer has been spotted with the same lady twice in New York.
The Mirror has identified who the mystery lady was, and it turns out she and the singer have known each other for quite some time.
The girl spotted with Ed is Cherry Seaborn, a British native who found her way to play professional hockey in the United States. She and Sheeran went to high school together in Thomas Mill High School in Framlingham, Suffolk. Seaborn went to college in New York and started her athletic career then. She has played for the English national team as well.
The two seems like they just recently caught up. The source says that it was only recently when Sheeran started following Seaborn on Twitter.
The Brit couple were spotted heading out of the singer's hotel in New York to watch the baseball game between the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies on August 30. The two haven't commented on their real status yet, but it's reportedly visible on the singer's face that he enjoyed his time with the fierce athlete. The two were even wearing matching caps.
Sheeran was rumored to be dating Nicole Scherzinger recently, but shortly after, news regarding their "split" surfaced. Kpop Starz reports that their 13-year age gap might be the root cause of their "breakup." They never really got serious anyway, so the two parties easily brushed off the split. They remain amicable and in good terms.
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran is bringing his latest show "x Tour" across the U.S., which marks his most expensive tour yet. Joining him as his opening act is Christina Perri. Check out his set list here.
