After the intriguing finale of the first season of "Mr. Robot," it was reported that fans are now looking forward for Season 2, and the show creator has revealed some details on what to look forward to in the next season.
According to the International Business Times, Elliot (Rami Maleck) will be facing some new challenges in Season 2. Although he was successful in taking down E Corp, it was reportedly shown in the last credits that Dark Army hacker lord White Rose (B.D. Wong) was meeting with the E Corp CEO, which means that she may not be an ally after all.
In an interview, creator Sam Esmail commented on the intriguing Season 1 finale. He said that they wanted the fans to know that there wasn't any victory and that there could be something larger in season 2.
Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström), the Senior Vice President of Technology at E Corp, teamed up with Elliot; however, he was nowhere to be found in the Season 1 finale. Elliot then talked to his wife Joanna (Stephanie Corneliussen) about the situation. However, Esmail revealed that Joanna might be the next antagonist in Season 2. He explained that although her motivations were a bit blurry in the first season, viewers will see the character rise in Season 2.
With Esmail's interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said that the last scene of the Season 1 finale has triggered several questions that could be possibly answered in Season 2. He added that Elliot's battle with Mr. Robot will still continue.
Esmail revealed that as of the moment a time jump is not necessary for the show and they haven't even looked into Elliot's past yet. He confirmed that as of the moment, he still doesn't know where exactly Season 2 will pick up.
As of writing, there is still no confirmed premiere date for Season 2, but it is believed to air sometime in 2016.
