Reports have been circulating that the big green monster might be appearing in Marvel's upcoming "Captain America" film; however, the Hulk himself confirmed that he won't be appearing in "Captain America: Civil War."
It was previously reported that "Captain America: Civil War" will feature some Marvel superheroes which will also have future solo movies. The confirmed characters in the movie include some of the Avengers like Iron Man, Black Widow and Hawkeye. It was also reported that Black Panther, Falcon, Ant-Man and Vision will also join the battle.
In the last Avengers movie, "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the Hulk was seen drifting to another place and the Avengers can't seem to locate him. In earlier reports, Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, sent a Twitter message to Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk. In the message it seems like the "Iron Man" star hinted that Ruffalo will be joining the crew for "Captain America: Civil War."
However, according to Entertainment Weekly, Ruffalo has confirmed that he was originally in the script, but the production decided to remove his character in the movie. He added that they still do not want to reveal the real location of the Hulk and he doesn't know if the Hulk will be coming back anytime soon. According to Superhero Hype, Ruffalo said that the reason behind the Hulk's disappearance was "too great to be revealed" in the upcoming movie.
There were also rumors about the Hulk appearing in the sequel of "Guardians of the Galaxy." However, director James Gunn already dismissed the rumors and said that the Hulk won't be joining the team who will be fighting in space.
Fans will just have to wait a little longer for the Hulk to return. Meanwhile, "Captain America: Civil War" will be in theaters on May 6, 2016.
