‘Wolverine 3’ Spoilers: Film will feature 'Old Man Logan' Storyline, Liev Schreiber Clarifies Sabretooth Rumors

Fans hoping that the actor, Liv Schreiber, will reprise his role as Sabretooth in the forthcoming "Wolverine 3" movie will be disappointed with the latest news. The star clarified that he is not a part of the Marvel film.

Schreiber made the revelation during an appearance at "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," reports Cinema Blend. When Fallon asked about his "Wolverine 3" participation, the actor replied, "People have surmised that from my tweet, but I wasn't. I was really just saying is that something I have to do as I get older. Is that how I approach middle age? Like that."

The Twitter message that the actor referred to was a response he made to Hugh Jackman's mid-August post on the social media site. According to Cinema Blend, the "Wolverine" star shared a photo of himself working out at the gym, which reportedly seemed to indicate that the star was preparing for his "X-Men" role. Schreiber, who played Sabretooth in "X-Men: Origins," responded to Jackman's tweet with "Do I have to do that..." Although this was not a confirmation of the actor's involvement in the last "Wolverine" movie, it was "enough to plant a seed," stated the site.

The Cinema Blend report also mentioned that aside from clarifying the Sabretooth rumors during his interview, Schreiber also teased that "Wolverine 3" will feature a storyline about "Old Man Logan." The actor explained that it was what he heard about film and joked, "I don't know if I'm invited... And when I heard that, I thought, 'Well, you know there's old man Logan, there could be old man Sabretooth.' The two of us like walkers."

Meanwhile, details about "Wolverine 3" and its storyline has been scarce, although Jackman did share a few of the fans' top requests for the sequel, reports ComicBook.com. In an August interview with the Daily Telegraph, Jackman revealed that many of the fans requested for Victor Creed, better known as Sabretooth, to come back for the movie sequel. Director James Mangold or 20th Century Fox has yet to disclose the characters for the film.

"Wolverine 3" is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017.
