"Neighbors 2" has added another name in its already starry cast with the inclusion of the pop princess herself, Selena Gomez.
According to E! News, the whole gang Zac Efron, Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are back and ready for the sequel "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising." It was only recently when Chloe Grace Moretz was announced to join the cast.
The release of "Neighbors" in May 2014 was an unexpected hit with a total gross of $269 million worldwide. And this time adding more of its power casts will make it more exciting.
Nicholas Stoller is back directing the up and coming sequel. He is working with the script produced by Andrew Jay Cohen, Brendan O'Brien, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg under Point Grey Pictures. Cohen and O'Brien are the executive producers along with Good Universe's Nathan Kahane and Joseph Drake.
The plot for the sequel has not been released yet, but there are speculations that this time there will be sorority problems. In the first flick, it talks about how a couple's life is changed after they got in a fight with the fraternity that moved in next door. The studio is keeping the plot a secret for now.
According to Yahoo!, fans of the "Good For You" singer found out about her being part of the cast Thursday when they saw Selena at the Atlanta, Georgia set. Details of the singer's character in the film is still unknown. But photos from fans show that she was wearing a tight pink dress suggesting her sorority role.
The Wrap said Selena is expected to play as a rival to Moretz's role. Meanwhile, Chloe Grace will be playing as a member of a sorority, more likely as the leader of it.
"Neighbors 2" movie is set to hit the theaters on May 20, 2016.
