In April 2012, the housing markets were set abuzz with rumors of actor Matt Damon purchasing a Pacific Palisades mansion just alongside pal Ben Affleck's home. However, unlike some rumors this turned out to be true. The "Goodwill Hunting" actor reportedly coughed up $15 million for the Pacific Palisades property.
The purchase record recently appeared in the Multiple Listing Service, which confirms Damon's splurge, reports The LA Times.
The property is spread across an area of 29,000 square feet and is said to be one of the best homes in the area. The main home comprises of 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. The three story home also sports a large gym, a koi pond, spa pavilion, reports Examiner.
The place also has an infinity pool where the Affleck and Damon family were seen relaxing recently, reports Us Magazine.
The home sports a 35-foot high vaulted ceilings along with glass walls. A stairway and an atrium connect all the three floors of the home. Two maid rooms and a huge garage to accommodate around 5 cars are also some of its luxurious features. Built in 2004, the home is a single family residence, which was designed by architect, Grant Kirkpatrick, reports Realtor.
The home was originally listed for $15.95 million. However, Damon managed to negotiate it for $15 million, reports Examiner.
Damon and Affleck have been friends since childhood. They grew up together in Cambridge, Massachusetts and have been thick buddies since. The duo won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for "Goodwill Hunting" and also bagged a Golden Globe Award. Damon also garnered many nominations and an Academy Award for his performance in the film. He is also famous for his stints in the Bourne Legacy movies.
Damon lives in the Pacific Palisades home with wife Luciana Bozán Barroso, step-daughter Alexia and daughters Isabella, Gia and Stella.
