Perhaps one of the most widely used telecommunication mediums since the late 1920s would be the television or TV as it is commonly referred to. Since then, many innovations and improvements were made in order to make it more user friendly and more popular in the consumer world. As of today, different manufacturing companies are offering different styles and types of what use to be a crude form of a television. And the tech giant LG has something new to offer in the aspect of television display system.
LG Display, a screen-making subsidiary of LG, unveiled their new type of television in the recently concluded world's leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, IFA. In the said event, one of Asia's tech giant showcased their massive 111- inch double-sided display that is made of three 65-inch Ultra HD OLED displays. It does not only boast of its size, but as well of its capability to allow viewers to watch from the different sides and angles of the television simultaneously. (Click for Image)
You might be tempted to ask what would be the use of the television in your house; especially of its new two way display function. For now, the television serves only as a prototype. And regardless of its use, the company's main purpose for the design according to mashable is "to illustrate what LG is capable of bringing to the OLED market in the future, rather than introducing a new product."
The company, LG, together with one of the pioneers of OLED technology, Dr. Ching W. Tang, believes on OLED advance feature and superior performance. That is why OLED is being considered as the display technology for the next generation not just by LG but as well as other tech companies. With this growing interest on the new technology it would only be matter of time that every household will be using OLED based televisions.
