Pleasing a teenager in terms of their room color preferences can sometimes be troublesome. Most teenagers are very meticulous and picky when it comes to room colors and designs. Teenagers would normally prefer the color of their choice as their creative side is at its peak. They usually have strong ideas on what color to choose or how they would want their rooms to look like. Perky teens would prefer bright hues as introverted ones would prefer earthly tones.
Make your teenager choose the color that they'd prefer and just mix and match to make it work. Some colors may be unconventional, but it still can work well with the appropriate room furniture and additional colored details.
Teens would normally prefer the shades of Purple, Blue, and Yellow. Though some can go as far as vivid orange and neon green, it can still work it you would be able to pair it with contrasting hues.
As per HGTV, purple is a particular favorite among teenage girls. The color may range from modern to romantic depending on the shade and accent. As per the website, if you would opt for a more glamorous look, "pair a rich shade of purple with black furniture and art-deco light fixtures. White furniture and billowy fabrics will give lavender room a dreamy feel."
They also gave out tips for pink rooms. The website stated that rich pink or salmon walls with accents in a bright shade of green or sunny yellow would make the room more vibrant and classy. Add up touches or modern furniture and geometric touches will keep a teen's pink bedroom from looking too young and frilly.
HGTV advised that a teen boy's room would look classy on a warm brown or neutral beige tone with bright orange or green accents. Boys would usually prefer shades of blue up until their teenage years. A rich cobalt or navy looks good with green and brown accents.
