Austria Lifts Its Emergency Measures for Syrian Refugees Fleeing from Civil War

Austria has been receiving refugees from a civil war in Syria from the last few weeks now. However, last Sunday, it was announced that the state will lift its emergency measures that let thousands of refugees take shelter in their city.

According to reuters.com, random border checks were suspended by Austria when photos of dead children lying in a beach after trying to enter Europe illegally have circulated and painted a horror story for the Europeans.

The decision was concluded between the Austrian Chancellor Werener Faymann and German Chancellor Angela Merkel's "intensive talks" and a telephone call with Viktor Orban, prime minister of Hungary, who seems to be opposing the waiver.

Faymann said, "We have always said this is an emergency situation in which we must act quickly and humanely. We have helped more than 12,000 people in an acute situation. Now we have to move step-by-step away from emergency measures toward normality, in conformity with the law and dignity."

Refugees from the civil war keep on pouring to European borders. Hungary had placed a hundred buses to the border for the relief of thousand migrants who seek shelter in their countries.

According to news.yahoo.com, Christoph Hillenbrand, president of the Upper Bavarian government, said that Munich is starting to get crowded and soon there will be no room enough for the thousands refugees. Also, the president expected 13,000 migrants to enter the city on Sunday. Adding the expected 11,000 migrants that will arrive on Monday.

Munich authorities set- up another 1,000 beds in addition to their already installed 2,300 beds in a car showroom and a railway logistic center to give relief to the refugees. Around 4,000 people headed to other German states to seek shelter as Hillenbrand said, "It's getting tight."

Merkel's decision of allowing migrants to take refuge in Germany had caused an influx and "a rift in her conservative bloc." Her Bavarian allies are saying that she carried on her decision without consulting the federal state administration.
