It looks like the Williams' sisters will bring crowds again at the ongoing US Open this year, and fans of the tennis greats will be vying for their favorite sister to outdo the other on one of the greatest plays in tennis history.
According to an article on ibtimes.com.au, Venus Williams had this to say on their upcoming duel, "I don't think anyone wants to be a spoiler..I think people love to see history being made. But at the same time, you're focused on winning your match even though the circumstances are really much different than you."
Absolutely, however, this isn't exactly the first time that the famous sister have battled it out on the playing field. For the 27th time, Serena Williams is looking forward to remain consistent with her winning run against her sister, since being known for holding the record of most wins during all their previous matches. She is also just 3 wins away from becoming a four-time major title holder for this year alone, as stated in the same article.
In another report on express.co.uk, said Serena,"I'm playing, for me, the best player in the tournament, and that's never easy...She's beaten me so many times. I've taken a lot of losses off of her - more than anybody. Yeah, she's a player that knows how to win, knows how to beat me, and knows my weaknesses better than anyone. So it's not an easy match at all. Hopefully things will go right."
Fun fact: According to the same article, 1988 was the year Steffi Graf won 22 grand slam titles in the singles division of the game. Serena Williams may be the next in line to achieve this feat, but Venus may have her own share of surprises.
