‘The Last Ship’ Season 3 News: Premiere Date Hopes and More for Eric Dane Series

The well-loved series "The Last Ship" is approaching its last episode, and the fans are a bit worried regarding the shows future. Though this might not be the last season, the series will be talking a little time off.

As of the Cartermatt website, fans will be thrilled as the show is concluding its current arc of episodes. TNT however is making sure that the fans will have a sense of security for the rest of the year. The network made sure that Eric Dane and the rest of the cast [the ones that would make it through the finale] will be coming back.

The Hollywood Reporter then discussed the 2nd season's finale on their website. Hank Steinberg, the co-showrunner stated that the finale is making the headlines. He said: "the season finale is the first real victory after having a number of losses. It's really the beginning of something."

"The Last Ship" has been making an effort in taking their viewers in for a wild ride. The whole season included a series of shoot-outs with rogue sects of the population immune to the Red Flu. The website then summarized the finale details. They did have inside scoops as they were able to do a series of Q&A with the producer and the writer of the show, Steven Kane and Hank Steinberg.

The final scene feels like it was shot with a sense of purposeful ambiguity concerning Dr. Scott's fate. Was that intentional?

Steven Kane: It was purposely ambiguous. ... We like the idea of showing that the show's not over, that there're still threats out there. Otherwise, it felt like, "Well, I guess they got the cure. Why keep watching?" It's part of the structure.

Why the allusion to the Lincoln Assassination?

Steven Kane: The theme of the whole season was that America's being torn apart and is in a post-apocalyptic civil war between the immunes and us non-immunes who have been converted and who are against the immunes. From the beginning, Chandler is in the White House and he's looking at a portrait of Lincoln, thinking about the idea that America needs to be repaired again. So that's something that's an important scene for us for the whole season. That's why we really love this ending.
