Rapper 50 Cent Instagrams His New House in Africa Despite Bankruptcy

American rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, showed off his new African mansion by posting a video on his Instagram account last Saturday. This is despite filing for bankruptcy just last month following multiple lawsuits, the latest against a woman who sued him for leaking their sex video without her consent.

"My crib is almost finished in AFRICA. I'm gonna have the craziest House warming party ever. I'll explain later. I got a good life MAN," Cent proudly stated in the video's caption. The clip shows a two-story brown and white facade with a distinct Mediterranean style. It also pans to a swimming pool surrounded by tropical trees and an expansive paved area.

Meanwhile, his 50,000 square feet home in Connecticut, which has 21 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms, is now listed in the market as he struggles to pay a reported amount of $72,000 for monthly upkeep. Aside from household expenses, Cent also spends around $36,000 for child support, grooming, and other personal expenses.

Cent's legal team has recently issued a statement on Business Insider. "A filing for personal bankruptcy protection is a complex and often time-consuming process," says William A. Brewer III, partner at Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors. "Lost in the reporting about Mr. Jackson's assets, liabilities and individual expenses is the reason for the filing - to pursue an orderly reorganization of his financial affairs. It is important to remember the filing for protection permits Mr. Jackson to continue his active involvement in numerous business, entertainment and philanthropic interests."

50 Cent rose to fame in 2003 with his album "Get Rich or Die Tryin" and has since sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. In 2013, Forbes listed him as one of the richest rappers in 2013. He was last seen in the movie "Southpaw" starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
