Amy's Baking Company, the notorious Arizona restaurant that made Gordon Ramsay quit in the middle of an episode in his show "Kitchen Nightmares," has reportedly been shut down by its owners, the Bouzaglos.
According to AZ Central, operations of Amy's Baking Company in Scottsdale, Arizona was shut down by its owners Amy and Samy Bouzaglo this week. The couple made a huge splash on the news in 2013 when their restaurant was featured in the show "Kitchen Nightmares" hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay who is also a judge in "Masterchef US."
The Bouzaglos gained notoriety when they were filmed swearing at clients, stealing tips from their own servers and picking a fight with Ramsay who left in the middle of the show due to frustration. It was the first time in the show's history that the 48-year-old chef walked away from a restaurant he was trying to help.
In the same report of AZ Central, Amy reportedly announced their plans to close the restaurant in July. She said she will turn her attention to selling desserts to other restaurants instead and do videos about cooking. She shot down reports that the business was not doing well financially nor was shutting down due to their bad reputation as business owners.
Meanwhile, according to the The Daily Mail, in the aftermath of the couple's unruly and scandalous behavior, unsavory details about Amy and Samy's past came out. She was imprisoned for fraud involving her Social Security number, while Samy got involved in drugs. In addition, a video surfaced showing him threatening to stab a customer with a knife.
The villainy couple even tried to make money off the catchphrases they supposedly made famous like "Here's your pizza, go f**k yourself" by making them into t-shirt designs. On their social media accounts, a photo of a grey sky with "THE END" emblazoned across was posted after the announcement that they will shut down operations.
