Carl Edwards wins Caution Filled Darlington 50

On a throwback Labor Day weekend, the famed racer, Carl Edwards, came on late to win Sunday night's crash-filled Bojangles' Southern 500 at historic Darlington Raceway as reported on Fox Sports. Right after falling 2 laps down because of a flat tire, Edwards immediately rallied, and then was able to beat Brad Keselowski off pit road for the lead 12 laps from the end.

With a softer tire, the race featured low-downforce aerodynamic package of NASCAR. In the same news article on Fox Sports, Edwards was quoted saying about NASCAR's aero package: "I don't think I can get in trouble for saying how much I liked it. But, man, I loved it. This is as good as it gets. This is what it's about. We're sliding cars, the tires are falling off. This is the style of racing that I love. If there's any chance we can run this in the Chase, I hope we can do it. Just an awesome day." Keselowski did agree to his claim.

Keselowski certainly hoped to use Darlington again to springboard into the Sprint Cup playoffs, which will kick off in two weeks-time in Chicago. Keselowski said that his team still has loads of work ahead: "Just one spot short at the end. We're right there. We've just got to find one more level to win these races and win this championship."

According to a report on ESPN, Edwards did his signature victory backflip in the race's return to Labor Day weekend. "I guess we made it Carlington for a couple of minutes. This is the Southern 500. This is amazing," Edwards said after his crew taped over part of the "D" on the painted Darlington sign along a retaining wall. In eleven seasons as a fulltime driver, Edwards has amazingly won several races in season for the seventh time.

With 8 laps left, Hamlin and Edwards perfectly broke into the lead on the restart over Keselowski, with Logano fourth and Harvick fifth according to the article on Fox Sports. And even if Keselowski was able to take second, Edwards astoundingly cruised to the triumph.
