Girl power never stops! After the Spice Girls' highly anticipated reunion tour back in 2007-2008, Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell reveals that the girl band has been in talks about another reunion for the 20th anniversary of the song that started it all, "Wannabe." The slated reunion is set for 2016.
According to the Daily Mirror, Halliwell agrees that the 20th anniversary of the breakout hit is definitely something to celebrate. She then confirmed that negotiations are underway, but not much detail has been provided about the said reunion. She also shared that she'll always be grateful and overwhelmed with the support that they've gotten over the years as a band and as individuals.
Halliwell also admitted of being careful with her words regarding such big news, as she wouldn't want the fans all over the world to get their hopes up over nothing. However, she remained flattered with the fact that there will always be a demand for the biggest girl band in the world to come together once again. All she can say for now is "let's see what happens."
It was also reported a month ago by Daily Mail that the Spice Girls were set for a reunion tour for the same commemoration, but without Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham on board. Beckham will reportedly stay focused on her fashion empire, which has served her well throughout the years.
An insider told the source that "Victoria loved her time as a Spice Girl and wishes the girls nothing but success & happiness; however, she is now too busy running her brand and fulfilling the needs of her family."
The rest of the Spice Girls also shared their piece regarding the reunion. Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton tweeted, "Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?," while Melanie C aka "Sporty Spice" replied with, "Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!!"
The girls told fans that they should just wait for an official statement from their end once everything has been set in stone about the grand reunion.
