'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt': 'Hearts of Stone' Expansion Release Date Announced, Game to Feature New Characters, Storylines and Runewords System

Fans of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will be pumped up with these news! They'll be glad that they don't have to wait much longer for the anticipated expansion for the game titled "Hearts of Stone." It was recently announced by CD Projekt Red that the game is set for an October 13 release.

IGN shares that the expansion will have 10 hours' worth of new content that consists of new characters, monsters, storylines, and a new Runewords system. The source also reports that there will be a special boxed edition, which will include codes, two decks of Gwent cards, and a physical rulebook. This boxed edition will be available for $19.99. This will be alongside the release of the digital version.

The expansion's storyline will focus on the character Geralt, and bandit captain and immortal Olgeird von Everec hires him. The source also says that players can "apparently be able to recruit a crew of break-in artists, party with a ghost and meet a host of new and bizarre creatures."

VG247 shares that players who have gone beyond level 30 can be granted access to the new content. They also say "players will be able to tackle them either during or after completing the main game. What's more, the expansion content will scale with New Game Plus, which is great news for those already on their second playthroughs."

Although players who haven't reached level 30 yet can still gain access to or play with "Hearts of Stones" content, reaching level 30 is still highly recommended.

"The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone" will be available on October 13, 2015. Check out the teaser trailer here:
