Former Owner of Dallas stars and Texas Rangers, Thomas Ollis Hicks, has reportedly put his massive Dallas estate up for sale asking for a good $135 million. The business giant's estate is located on Preston Hollow's Walnut Hill lane and is perhaps the most expensive estate of Dallas City.
Hicks and his wife Cinda purchased the estate back in 1996 and spent several years remodeling the property. The renovation cost the couple around $100 million, reports Pegasus News.
The property was originally owned by an Italian Count Pio Crespi and his wife Florence.
On a vast 25 acre lot, a 28,996 square feet main unit sits in the center. The lawns are more like meadows that features a zigzag creek with stone bridges. A tennis court, a screening hall, a swimming pool with a separate two-story pool house and recreation rooms are some of its features, reports Real Estalker.
However, the huge estate's maintenance requires a lot of water and therefore, the couple has installed a private well and a holding pond to meet the maintenance needs of the property. The home, built in the late 1930s also boasts of vegetable and rose gardens and has a separate double story guesthouse, reports Dallas Morning News.
The home's marketing and sales is being handled by realty listing agency, Douglas Newby and Associates. The Huffington Post describes the home as "an oasis in the middle of a large city" with "strongest architectural pedigree" and calls it an "awe inspiring-warmth creating home". The estate also seems to be a perfect place to have fun with its large recreation areas.
The home has a history to it as well. Before the Hicks bought the estate, the house hosted a reception to honor actor Jimmy Stewart and President Ronald Reagan stayed at the house here when he campaigned in the city for his presidential run, reports Dallas Morning News.
Hicks owns 50 percent stake in the soccer club,Liverpool FC and is also chairman of Hicks Holdings LLC.
