'Supernatural' Season 11 Teasers: Dean the New Death? The Winchesters to Ally with Unexpected and Unholy Characters from Their Past

The Supernatural Season 10 finale "Brother's Keeper" left the fans of the hit CW shocked and hanging. The episode ended with Dean (Jensen Ackles) killing Death (Julian Richings) with his very own scythe, which is very much unexpected. In the previous episodes, Dean struck a deal with Death that would allow the eldest Winchester to live far, far away, while still acting as the vessel to the Mark of Cain, in exchange for Sam's (Jared Padalecki) life.

The season finale ended with the comical statement of Dean saying ""I think I just killed Death." Fans and followers are now to speculate whether Dean will replaced the position of the man he killed as the guide of souls to the afterlife.

Jeremy Carver, the show's executive producer, didn't confirm yet that Dean will become the Death replacement but he told TVLine that the Death would result in consequences "to a certain extent." Those repercussions will be addressed "in the first batch of episodes" in Season 11, the showrunner revealed, adding that fans "can imagine that it causes some issues."

The removal of the Mark of Cain have released a powerful force that predates angels, bible, and even Crowley. Due to this the 'slash and burn' brother duo is going to need all the help they need even if it comes from their past.

"As responsible as the boys feel for having released The Darkness and how much they personally want to defeat it, they're not going to be able to do it alone. They're going to have to confront some figures from their past," Carver told TV Line. "They're going to have to make some unexpected and unholy alliances involving folks from their past, which will have personal ramifications, as well. Because these are some pretty significant figures from their past."

According to Misha Collins, who portrays the angel Castiel on "Supernatural," The Darkness is so old that even the angels thought it was just a "scary bedtime story."

"Cas didn't think that The Darkness was a real thing. So it's that old of a force," he elaborated to TVLine, leaving viewers to agitate at the thought of what The Darkness and the lack of a Reaper could mean for the Season 11 storyline.

"Supernatural" season 11 will premiere on Oct. 7 with an episode called "The Bad Seed."
