Felix 'PewDiePie' Kjellberg celebrates a new milestone in his career as he becomes the first "YouTuber" to exceed more than 10 billion views on his YouTube channel. This report originally appeared on Gamespot. The YouTube content maker announced via Twitter on September 6, 2015 to his 6 million followers that he has hit this new milestone.
"Today we made history! 10 billion views! THIS IS INSANE. Thank you all so much! Kisses pic.twitter.com/L3Td2HMX4N", He twitted.
According to Gamespot, PewDiePie created his channel 6 years ago, then on December of 2012 he signed a deal with video content maker Maker Studios which is not owned by Disney.
Speaking of his YouTube channel, Kjellberg said, "I'm so central to YouTube now, and that puts me in the spotlight and raises a lot of questions like 'Why is he so big?'" Then he added, "I'd much rather prefer to have something like 5 million subscribers."
Currently the PewDiePie Channel has more than 39 million subscribers.
On the other hand, to address the topic on his earnings from which he has garnered negative comments along with the positive ones, he has posted a 6-minute video that recalls his path to success and said, "Money does not make you happy." He noted, "Money is a topic that I purposefully tried to avoid for the five years I've been making videos. I just feel like it's not important to anyone. I just want to make entertaining videos.
"Whenever it comes out how much I made a certain year, people just get so shocked. A lot of people were also very angry. They thought it was unfair. They thought I just sit on my ass and I yell at the screen over here--which is true--but there's so much more to it than that."
Lastly he said, "I understand that haters are going to hate, but I really think that money doesn't make you happy. I'm just as happy now as I was five years ago. I'm very happy that I don't have to worry about paying rent."
