Famous designer Jenna Lyons of the J. Crew fashion line has reportedly been on a home hunt. After recently divorcing her husband of nine years, Vincent Mazeau, the designer is taking the next step with new-found-love, Courtney Crangi.
Lyons got romantically involved with Crangi soon after the divorce that sparked off rumors of Crangi being the reason for the couple's split. The two have been going steady since and have decided to move in together. The couple is looking for a rental in the SoHo area of Lower Manhattan, New York, reports NY Daily news.
After Lyons split with her husband, she moved into an apartment in Tribeca. The American Express Carriage House, originally a stable, was converted into a 15-luxury-apartment building in 2011. Some of the striking features of the apartment are its architectural brilliance and a personalized direct home-access garage. Since the owners of the apartment decided to put it up for sale, Lyons has been looking for another place to live, reports Daily Mail.
However, another source told NY Daily News that Lyons was moving out as Hurricane Sandy had flooded the place.
"She's been looking at lofts around there together with Courtney. They will be renting," a real estate insider told Confidenti@l.
Lyons is a popular designer and is the first lady, Michelle Obama's, favorite. At the recent Presidential Inauguration, the first lady teamed up her Jason Wu- designed black collarless dress with a pair of J. Crew Shoes, reports Huffington Post.
Lyons revealed that Michele Obama was just like any other American shopper. The ladies of the first family usually shop and order online, reports Huff Post. The 48-year-old designer also declared that J.Crew will not be doing any reruns of the "Inaugural Outfits" of the first Lady and her family.
"Obviously people want to have a part of what she's wearing, but most often she's purchased it from previous seasons, or has pulled it out of her closet, so it's not available. We won't rerun these items, just out of respect for the First family," Lyons told Daily mail.
Lyons, who makes around $5 million from her fashion line, J.Crew, was honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America in November at its Vogue Fashion Fund Dinner.
