‘Rise Of The Tomb Raider’ Gameplay: Game Won’t Support Multiplayer Mode? Online Component Confirmed For Launch

Earlier this month, rumors have it that "Rise of The Tomb Raider" will no longer support multiplayer mode as one of the components of the game. Such rumor surfaced after a leaked photo of what appears to be an Xbox Magazine went viral.

The photo which was spotted first on the AllGamesBeta Twitter account has a text that says, "With multiplayer cut from the experience, Crystal Dynamics needed to make this core campaign as entertaining as possible." It was said that such rumor came as "shocking" to both avid fans and gamers, iDigital Times stated on Wednesday.

"While Microsoft seemed to dance around saying there was a multiplayer mode, they have confirmed that there will be something. Based on how the statement is worded, it sounds like something in the single-player campaign will allow you to compete with your friends. My best guess would be there will be challenge rooms or some sort of high-score mission, with leaderboards for your friends to compete with," the report said.

Gamerant reports that the game's developers will primarily focus on creating a solo campaign for all the gamers. This corroborates with the leaked Xbox Magazine photo that was shared via social media networking sites.

However, an official from Microsoft did not react to the rumor but confirmed that an online component of the game will be featured. The company's spokesperson said that the game's online component will not be presented in a multiplayer gameplay.

"Crystal Dynamics are hard at work on 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' and excited to deliver an amazing experience on Nov. 10 (US, 13, Nov. UK). In the coming weeks and months, stay tuned for more info on all things Rise of the Tomb Raider - including how players will be able to extend their single-player campaign and compete with their friends," Microsoft's spokesperson said, as quoted in the report.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider" is scheduled to be released on November 10, 2015 exclusively for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game's PC version is due in early 2016.
