'Dance Moms' Star Maddie ZIegler To Star In Sia's Upcoming Movie 'Sister'

"Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler will take on the lead role on Sia's upcoming movie, "Sister." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sia will write the script and direct the upcoming movie starring the 12-year-old dancer.

Although the "Chandelier" singer did not reveal much details about her new project, she talked about how she decided on releasing a movie.

"I was too embarrassed to tell anyone I wanted to make a movie because I thought it would be seen as a vanity project because I was a singer... And then last year, I made the 'Chandelier' video, I realized that I was pretty good at directing, so I felt a little bit braver," she said.

Meanwhile, Sia's decision to tap Ziegler to join her upcoming project did not come as a surprise to fans. In the past, Ziegler and Sia have collaborated on three of the singer's music videos for "Chandelier," "Elastic Heart" and "Big Girls Cry." Ever since then, the two artists have already developed a close friendship.

During an interview with Harper's Bazaar, the 12-year-old reality TV star gushed over Sia and said that they always try to spend some time with each other outside of work.

"I don't work with Sia every day. It depends on what we do, whether we do performances or music videos so the schedule is weird but when we're off we always try to see each other in between," she said.

Ziegler also revealed the things that she normally does with Sia and said, "We just hang out, we went to brunch one time but for the most part I go to her house and we eat and we watch TV. We started working together because she's actually a fan of 'Dance Moms.'"

As of late, there is still no confirmation yet as to when Sia's movie will be released and where.
