One camerawoman covering a Hungarian camp got involved after tripping refugees who were trying to escape from police officers.
According to time.com, the incident was recorded by a German correspondent and the camerawoman was working for Hungarian broadcaster 'N1'. It was also reported that the camerawoman got fired because of what she did.
The TV station posted an official statement signed by N1 TV Editor Szabolcs Kisber in their official website regarding the incident. They said "Today, a N1TV colleague behaved unacceptably at the Roeszke reception center. The cameraman's employment was terminated with immediate effect."
ABC news crew was present at the scene and said that hundred of refugees were still able to escape due to overcrowding. The camp was situated near the Hungarian- Serbian border and tension started to rise when many refugees tried to cross the border and continue their journey to Germany and Austria but police officers were stopping them.
Due to the incident of N1's camerawoman, Twitter users said that the camerawoman owe an apology for the refugees that tripped while trying to escape. They also said that the incident was a manifestation of their support to their prime minister.
According to washingtonpost.com, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has taken a "tough stance" against the surge of thousands of refugees fleeing from Syria to Hungary's neighboring countries.
Witnesses and viewers' reaction was disbelief and rage. A British- Iranian journalist, Sanam Shantyaei, said that the seeing the incident was "horrific." Other had also said that the camerawoman tried to trip another child trying to flee the scene. Angry citizen took it to Twitter to show their disgust for the camerawoman's behavior.
