Fall Decorations: Orange and a Modern Way of Taking this Fall Color for Your House Decoration

Now that the kids are back in school, time and attention can be refocused to the house and home decoration this autumn. Being in this season marks the dominance of orange as a color. "It's one of the zippiest colors," says San Francisco interior designer Kimberly Ayres. It exudes warmth and since it is a combination of red and yellow, you can see and feel a friendly inner glow in it. Plus, it has many moods. It can be calming such as the one given out by peach or earthy from the pumpkin orange. There are manyways by which you can use it into your space and making your place totally chic.

1. On walls

When painting the walls with this color, you may use in on one wall only to act as a focal point. Don't use it elsewhere in the room. Instead, you may use neutral colors such as white and cream to temper the shade. Avoid using black as well so as not to give that Halloween look and feel.

2. On pillows and artworks

Pops of orange on pillows and artwork will make your space look cozier. Likewise, it pumps up the neutrals.

3. On furniture

Forget sub subtlety for now. Orange chair cushions will bring out the white or other neutral colors in the room. For a more playful or animated look, you may pair your bright orange furniture with other bold accents like a turquoise table lamp or a hot pink chair. Dark orange pieces will go well also with gray.

4. On window coverings

Touches of orange on your window coverings- curtains, drapes and blinds, pick up an orange tone wood. Orange-colored fabric improves lighting in the room ad can even give a cloudy day a little sunshine influence as daylight filters through.

5. On frames

A better way of showing off an ocean view and making the blue even bluer is with a pop of bright orange on your wooded landscape.
