'Homeland' Season 5 Premiere & Spoilers: Carrie & Saul Comes Face to Face In Berlin; Carrie Will Be Kidnapped Twice

Carrie (Claire Danes) will be facing a new enemy and will be meeting with old friends as "Homeland" Season 5 premieres on Showtime.

According to Christian Post, Showtime revealed a photo where Carrie can be seen having an intense face-to-face encounter with her former friend and colleague Saul (Mandy Patinkin).

It was reported earlier that in Season 5, Saul will be accusing Carrie as a traitor to the U.S. government after she decides to work in a security agency in Germany. It may seem that Carrie's work in the private security firm will be "counterproductive" for her, and she will reportedly be considered as a threat to the U.S. government.

There are also indicators that the show will be having a more violent plotline in the upcoming season. Aside from looking into the privacy system of Germany, the show was also reported to touch on the issues of ISIS and also Russian President Putin.

Carrie will also have to look out for herself, as according to Master Herald, she will be kidnapped twice. Will this be the work of two-timing CIA black ops operative, Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham) and Saul?

According to the site, the two are plotting something and Carrie may be involved in it. It was also previously reported that Saul might let Quinn (Rupert Friend) choose between his loyalty to the country and his love for Carrie.

The show was reported to come back after a two-year jump from the events in Season 4 finale, where Carrie decides to isolate herself in Germany and where she will meet her new boyfriend and start working for a wealthy German client.

Claire Danes was also reported to be filming some scenes in Berlin with Miranda Otto, who is joining the cast for Season 5. Otto will be playing CIA's current Berlin Chief of Station who is working under Saul.

"Homeland" Season 5 will return on October 4.
