A Blood Moon is going to give an eerie sight in the night skies on Sept. 28.
Blood Moon or Blood Red Moon is a name used by NASA referring to a Lunar Eclipse. Lunar Eclipse occurs when the earth passes between the sun and the moon. This blocks the sun's rays from reflecting off the moon as normal. However, some of the sun rays bend around the earth causing the moon to appear red during a total eclipse.
The Blood Moon on September 28 will complete the Tetrad. A Tetrad is a phenomenon that occurs when four blood moons happened in close succession. This phenomenon only occurred 55 times since 1 AD.
According to the End Time Ministries, when four consecutive blood moons fall on Jewish feast days, a major event affecting the Jewish people will occur in close proximity to that time.
"The coming four blood moons points to a world-shaking event that will happen between April 2014 and October 2015," said John Hagee, founder of Cornerstone Church.
El Shaddai Ministries' Pastor Mark Blitz claim that the blood moon on September 28 heralds the end of the world and the second coming.
They cited some articles to support their claims,
Joel 2:31 states: "And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes."
Acts 2:20: "The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord."
Revelation 6:12: "(...) and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood."
NASA responded to their claims and said to Yahoo News that "NASA knows of no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth, so the probability of a major collision is quite small,"
"In fact, as best as we can tell, no large object is likely to strike the Earth any time in the next several hundred years," added NASA.
