Sandra Bullock Campaigns for Another Oscar With the First 'Our Brand Is Crisis' Trailer [Video]

Oscar winner actress Sandra Bullock is back on the big screen with her upcoming project entitled "Our Brand is Crisis." It is a political satire based on a documentary of the same name released 10 years ago. Bullock will play a political consultant hired by Bolivian president Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada. She will run his reelection campaign. In reality, it was James Carville, Clinton's veteran adviser, who was brought to Bolivia in 2002 to help the president in reversing his political career.

This new film has been under development for years, with George Clooney orginally set to get the main role. Nonetheless, Clooney is more than happy to have Bullock take the lead role, changing the gender of the character. Indie Filmaker best known for "The Pineapple Express" David Gordon Green came in as the director, while Zoe Kazan, Billy Bob Thornton, and Anthony Mackie are also on board for the film's supporting roles.

In an interview, Bullock shared her thoughts about playing the film's main character. She said that the character is similar to Karl Rove, the Republican mastermind who helped George W. Bush in getting to the White House two times. She said that her character is brilliant at the devious side of politics. She also shared that the characters are only after the victory, and "probably not for the right reasons". And as what is shown in the trailer, she would be willing to do anything just to win, even play dirty if that is what's needed.

With a controversial plot and an award winning cast, there's no way we can expect this film to not do well. It won't be a big shock if Bullock and the whole film itself will garner awards in the next awarding ceremonies. Nonetheless, having a politically inclined storyline may also call for controversies as well as positive interests from viewers. Right now, the people may already be excited to see Sandra Bullock on the big screen once again.
