'Jane The Virgin' Season 2 Spoilers: Gina Rodriguez Dishes On Jane Being A Role Model

"Jane the Virgin" lead star Gina Rodriguez recently weighed in on claims that her character Jane is a good role model to fans. In an interview with Glamour Magazine, Rodriguez said that she also learned a lot from her character on The CW series.

"She taught me that you can be many different things at once. Yeah, she doesn't have sex, but she's not uncool. She's ain't two pounds, but she's sexy. And playing a character who realizes she has no control over her future helped me understand my journey," she said.

Rodriguez went on to recount a time in her life when she thought that she will immediately be hired in the industry after graduating from college.

"I didn't get discovered right out of college the way I thought I was going to be. It was like, 'OK, this dream isn't looking the way I thought it was going to look.' I had to learn to let go and have faith," she said.

Meanwhile, the Emmy-nominated actress also talked about the upcoming second season of "Jane the Virgin." More specifically, the actress talked about what it was like being pregnant and giving birth on television.

"After preparing for it, I don't know if I'll ever touch a man again. I was crying when I watched it, because it felt like I had given birth to my first season ever. It felt like such an accomplishment. It also made me realize that I want to give birth to my career first," she said.

In other news, Rodriguez is up against some of the most talented lead stars in the upcoming Emmy awards. Other nominees include "Orphan Black" star Tatiana Maslany, "House of Cards" star Robin Wright, "How to Get Away With Murder" star Viola Davis and more, according to Variety.

"Jane the Virgin" Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 12.
