‘Fast & Furious 8’ Cast, Release Date, News: Angelina Jolie To Join the Team?

"Fast & Furious 8" won't be released until April 2017, but casting rumors are already all over the web with most of them speculating female additions to join or go against Dom Toretto's group in the film.

The first name to get involved in these rumors is Eva Mendez, which may not exactly be a big surprise as she was already in "2 Fast 2 Furious" and in "Fast Five" as Monica Fuentes. British actress Dame Helen Mirren was also rumored to play a villainess role in the coming film. Her participation in the film is pretty much confirmed actually. She is said to play a role that will be responsible for the prison release of Deckard Shaw. The third woman to get her name attached on the casting rumors is Ruby Rose. She is the breakout star from the "Orange Is The New Black". Ruby Rose has actually done an audition for the film's 7th part, but was rejected for some reasons.

More Casting Rumors

In the recent weeks, Cara Delevigne was also said to be joining the movie. The question is, is the successful movie sequels ready to add in a trending model to its cast? We'll see.

Speaking of popularity, superstar Angelina Jolie was also reported to be joining the Fast team, because Michelle Rodriguez was said to have mentioned craving to co-star with Jolie as another badass Fast character just like her Letty Ortiz role. Nonetheless, this idea still brings another question to mind, will Angelina Jolie ever get to a movie project where there are multiple main roles?

As of now, no confirmation or denial is coming from Cara Delevigne and Angelina Jolie.

"Fast 7" was a very successful project, ranking as the fifth highest grossing movie of all time. "Fast & Furious 8", also called "Fast 8" is yet to find out if it can do better than the previous movie. "Fast 8" has a playdate of April 14, 2017.

As big as a project as this is, "Fast 8" still has no director. James Wan did take the movie franchise to new heights in its Part 7, but it seems like it was just a one time project for him. Wan is best known for his horror movies such as "Saw" and "Insiduous".

Justin Lin was also rumored to take the directorial spot for "Fast & Furious 8". He was the franchise's director for its Parts 3-6.
