Celebrity Real Estate: Dean Cain’s Colorado Ranch Needs a Hero to Come to the Rescue

The 35-acre riverside estate belonging to actor Dean Cain is back on the market, this time for $5.4 million. It's a remarkable markdown from the original asking price of $9.5 million when the "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman'' star put his Balast, CO, ranch on the market four years ago.

The Realtor said the 4,399-square-foot house features a living room with a wet bar and a towering rock fireplace. The house features two kitchens (One for Clark Kent and One for Superman?). Built in 2002, Dean Cain's Colorado home has five bedrooms, including his-and-her master bedrooms.

The sprawling ranch comes with gated horse pasture, productive hayfields, a quarter-mile of river frontage (good for fly-fishing, according to the listing), and adorable wildlife. The house is the polar opposite of the Fortress of Solitude.

Despite all its amenities, the Colorado luxury ranch of the actor has bounced on and off the market since 2011. Is the house kryptonite to buyers? It shouldn't be. Perhaps this stunning estate will find a hero before 2015 ends.

According to Ski, after it was listed for $9.5 million in 2011, this 35-acre estate in Basalt owned by actor Dean Cain, of Lois & Clark and Ripley's Believe It or Not, has seen its remarkable pice slide to the current listing of $5.4 million. The 4,399-square-foot property features five berooms and 4.5 bathrooms. The estate is certainly scenic enough, with gated horse pasture, a quarter-file of river frontage, productive hayfields, and adorable wildlife.

The house also features a river rock and timber interior that's pretty standard for Colorado ranches. The property might even be described as modest for a TV star like Cain, who is still recognizable enough to guest star or make a cameo appearance as him. As Variety reported in 2013, this house is just the companion to a larger, grander, as-yet-unbuilt home.
