Fans waiting for news about "Transformers 5" will surely be happy with the latest spoiler updates. According to reports, the storyline for the forthcoming film may feature dual plots, including an epic fight between Optimus Prime and Unicron in space.
Mark Ryan, the voice actor for "Jetfire" and "Lockdown", spilled the spoiler details during the U.K. based "Wings and Wheels Convention", according to Christian Post (via IGN). Ryan mentioned that the first "Transformers 5" storyline will center on Mark Wahlberg's character Cade Yeager, who will join forces with the Autobots and Dinobots to save planet Earth from a threat.
Ryan added that the second storyline will lay the groundwork for the movie's future franchise. The plan for future "Transformers" films will reportedly veer away from delving too much on the human element of the story and will focus more on the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
The voice actor also shared that the second plot will have Optimus Prime heading into space to search for his creators, the Quintessons. It is in that journey that the Autobots leader will reportedly have a confrontation with Unicron.
Meanwhile, according to IGN, the previous "Transformers" movies had shied away from including Unicron into the storyline. Ehren Kruger, writer of the "Transformers" movies, told Huffington Post in June last year that it was a story line that he had been trying to push. However, it was "too big" and they have been trying to find the "right story for it."
Kruger said, "The only thing I do keep talking about that seems too big until we find the right stories for it -- or the way to make it make sense -- is the Unicron character from the mythology, who is a planet-size Transformer. It's not that it's too big, just that it'll be onscreen whenever we figure out how to make it visually interesting and amazing."
No other details were shared about the characters and other story conflicts. Fans will have to wait for further news about the forthcoming film. "Transformers 5" is slated for a 2017 release.
