The realty market in the U.S. is on the recovery path and people are actively looking to buy houses.
Realty listing site, Zillow surveyed more than 5100 neighborhoods in more than a hundred cities and compiled a list of neighborhoods that will be the most popular in 2013. The rankings are based on home value appreciation between December 2012 to 2013. The 2013 values are assumptions based on the 2012 data.
The top five neighborhoods are listed below:
1. Seven Oaks, Bakersfield, California: The Seven Oaks Neighborhood is one of the most affluent mixed use neighborhoods of Southwest Bakersfield. It is home to the California State University and is a commercial hub as well. The River Walk Park is one of its main attractions.
2. Gardenland, Sacramento, California: The Gardenland neighborhood of Sacramento, California fares second in "the hottest neighborhood" list with its lush landscapes and large lots as it is located near the Natomas Basin. Most of the population in the neighborhood is of Portuguese or Mexican descent. The neighborhood has a high diversity rate on the U.S. Census' diversity index.
3. Upper Land Park, Sacramento, California: Another neighborhood of Sacramento, the Upper land park is a part of the more popular "Land Park" area of Sacramento. It is largely dense in single family homes and has been home to many famous personalities like Writer Joan Didion, Cartoonist Rex Babin and many other political players as well.
4. Arrowhead Farms, San Bernardino, California: Arrowhead Farms came in fourth on the most popular neighborhoods. The area is located in the city of San Bernardino, which features many historical and cultural landmarks of California. It was earlier an unincorporated community of the city but is now a rural neighborhood there.
5. Riviera - Westchester, Bakersfield , California: Just west of downtown Bakersfield, Riviera - Westchester is largely popular for its huge trees and legendary homes built in the 1900s to 1960s. The Sam Lynn Ballpark and the Kern County Museum are some of its major attractions.
