‘Narcos’, Netflix's New Series, is Another Triumph

Netflix's new show "Narcos" is getting good reviews and are starting to get the interest of its viewers. Soon enough, many will be hooked with this new series.

Observer/Culture has a recap of the 4 episodes that have been aired already. It says that from the 4 episodes, the series seems to promise a "very competent adaptation of a Wikipedia page." The narration is said to have "an emphasis on the timelines that has the overall effect of forging interest in the real story more than getting us to feel anything for the characters."

For those who are not familiar with the new series, this is a story of the life of Pablo Escobar, a man known as a "notorious Colombian drug lord." This new Netflix series records the rise and fall of Escobar's Life.

This is what we know from the first few episodes: so far, the 4 episodes reveal Escobar as gaining "an insane amount of power." For someone to operate "city-sized cocaine super labs"- mind you, not just one ordinary cocaine workplace, it is in plural form and the adjective attached to it is "super"- it simply implies how influential he is in the place.

Now, these laboratories could produce 10,000 kilos of cocaine every week. However, the problem is that he could no longer smuggle the coke into the U.S in his own conventional ways, like private planes or pregnant women. For this issue, he has employed a German chemist to liquify the drug, put them into bottles, and then smuggle it. His contraband activities go on and on, inside and outside of the country. Significant characters are also introduced as each episode runs.

Fits News also reports that the good rating of the first 4 episodes, since it premiered on August 28, made Netflix renew the show for another season with 10 more episodes. Sufficed to say, this dark, brooding and violent Netflix' new TV series has captured the attention of the viewers.

After 10 episodes of season 1, this series that "paints a picture of a war with no heroes" will return in the small screen next year.
